Ice cream is good too, or so my kids tell me. In fact my daughters surgeon sent her home with a container of it. I still have my wisdom, so wouldn't know personally. Hmm how about strawberry smoothies? I've been eating a lot of strawberries from the farmers market. If you freeze them first it should help take the pain away like ice cream does.
When my bleeding wouldn't stop, the dentist's secret weapon was moistened black tea bags (it worked!). Anyway, the first 24 hours are by far the worst... you'll be better in no time.
Oh no! Make sure you have a plastic pillow protector and an old towel on it LOL... and have Marc get you a Frosty.. I lived on Frosties and WonTon Soup for a week, it can be done :)
Ow! I remember having mine removed. Two when I was still a teenager, then the remaining two in my early 20s. It was not fun. I hope you are feeling better soon.
Ouch! I still remember having mine broken into pieces and dug out! Then the dentist packed the holes with vaselined gauze, and I had to pull it out and repack them myself. I thought I was gonna die!
You have a lot of cyberfriends holding your hand, take care and take lots of painkillers ;-)
I hope you heal promptly and without complications. I had all four out at one time and was pretty much bounced back after the second day. My daughter had all four out at the same time and ended up passing out the first evening she was home and tried to eat some soup (scared the crap out of me!) and then she went on to have an infection in one of them and had to have follow up treatments to clear it up. It was a royal pain for her.
I sincerely hope your experience is more like mine than hers.
It's been so long since I had mine out that I don't remember the pain... Hope it doesn't take long for you to forget! Feel better soon so you can get back out to the garden.
Oh Thomas, I had two out last November, and the other 2 out the first week of June....and I am still sore. Hang in there, recovery is a b&(ch at our age. The hardest part for me was staying out of the garden- bending = throbbing, lol. Feel better soon!

ReplyDeleteI don't envy you. I got through mine with codeine and vodka (and mashed potatoes).
