December Broccoli

DSC_0016
This might very well be the last of this year's broccoli. As far as fall veggies are concerned, it's definitely a workhorse. How can you not like a veggie that starts to produce in early fall and doesn't stop until after several hard frosts.

So long broccoli. See you again in June.

  1. Your broccoli has produced very well for you this fall! I really should runover to the plots today to check on mine.

  2. You had a great fall production of broccoli. I missed most of my main fall crop of broccoli as I was traveling that week and by the time I got back most of it was in flower. I trimmed them up and the chickens got a lovely feast and we did enjoy the side shoots afterwards - but the plants shut down fairly early because we did not get a sunny fall this year (overcast and cold).

  3. Nice! Very inspirational, too ... I haven't done a lot of fall plantings of things, but this broccoli (and the tat soi below) look awesome!

  8. My broccoli was a car crash. It went to seed very quickly, and only produced enough for a spoonful each!
