Growing Citrus in Containers from Cultivating Life on Vimeo.
Here's a great video on how to grow and care for potted citrus trees. I've actually been to Logee's Greenhouses in Danielson, Connecticut and purchased my Kaffir lime tree there. After watching this video, I realized that the problems I had with my Meyer lemon tree last winter were most likely due to a combination of three things - improper watering, low room temperature and using too large of a pot. Also, I think it's time to thoroughly prune my trees.Saturday, August 20, 2011

Informative video...we would never be able to winter over citrus as we keep it too cold in the house in the winter...probably in the summer too. I have often thought about it though.
ReplyDeleteI just bought a meyer lemon last week so this came at just the perfect time.

ReplyDeleteThanks Thomas, I'll watch it when I get home today. I'll have to post a pic of the tree, it's a behemoth now compared to the 12 leaves it had by the end of winter.
ReplyDeleteSo I'm doing pretty much everything wrong. Guess I should be glad I didn't kill my lemon already. Now that I know what to do I have a weekend project already.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting!
You have an incredible variety of tomatoes. Ours is so boring this year. Our best plants was a simple beefstake hybrid. Thanks for sharing the video. We don't have any citrus trees ourselves, but I know others do.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting such an informative video! I have 3 citrus plants and none have ever grown fruit! I love Logees and definitely want to visit the greenhouse one day.
ReplyDeleteGreat video, I think my pots are too large now though.
