Today's Tidbit - Dry Stone Walling

I've always wanted to learn the craft of dry stone walling. For anyone interested, the New York Times published an interesting piece on this very subject recently:

The Master of the Stone Wall Discusses the Perfect Fit - New York Times, July 6, 2011

Check out the short instructional slide show too!

  1. I love the look of a stone wall! Wish I could afford to have one made or even just to be able to buy the stone to do it myself.

  2. Great info! Thanks for passing it along.

  3. Interesting article...we have built a couple of walls on our property using pieces of concrete from a broken up driveway/ patio

  4. For anyone interested, the Dry Stone Conservancy in Kentucky offers 2-day workshops in the spring and fall every year. They will be having a workshop at Hopewell Furnace in PA in late October or early November. www.drystone.org
