"Get Away From Her, You B*TCH!"

DSC_0008
...to quote Lt. Ripley. Well look who decided to take the bait of sliced peaches and vanilla extract! Woohoo!!!! Right about now I feel like Sigourney Weaver at the end of the Alien movies - reluctantly triumphant. You hope for her sake that she's dealt with the last of them but then the next alien comes along and bursts out of the chest of some unsuspecting fool and of course the saga repeats itself. In my case, this groundhog has parents and a sibling out there somewhere. But for now, I can at least breathe a short sigh of relief.

Mr. Groundhog, you and I are going for a little drive. :)

Update: In case anyone is curious, Mr. Groundhog has found a new home in the woods FAR away from me and my cucumbers.

  4. Yikes, I just realized we're neighbors! I hope you didn't left him off near our home LOL. We've had our own struggles with these guys. last summer they ate our vegetables right down to the dirt. But I think we licked the problem....

    Good luck!

  6. Oh I am so glad to read that you dropped him off in the woods, I was a little worried that you were going to show us a cute picture and then say something quite awful about a shovel on his head!

It really is very cute, much cuter than the rats that I catch around here!

    Thanks for the photo :)

  8. You got it! I hope you blindfolded it and drove it around in circles so it can't find it's way back.

  9. Well done. I hope he/she settles into his new home and stays away from other gardens. Now you know that bait combo works... you can go after the rest of the family that is surely lurking about.

  14. Peaches slices and vanilla extract ... Mr. Groundhog looks like a pretty sophisticated taste bud.
