"Get Away From Her, You B*TCH!"
...to quote Lt. Ripley. Well look who decided to take the bait of sliced peaches and vanilla extract! Woohoo!!!! Right about now I feel like Sigourney Weaver at the end of the Alien movies - reluctantly triumphant. You hope for her sake that she's dealt with the last of them but then the next alien comes along and bursts out of the chest of some unsuspecting fool and of course the saga repeats itself. In my case, this groundhog has parents and a sibling out there somewhere. But for now, I can at least breathe a short sigh of relief.
Mr. Groundhog, you and I are going for a little drive. :)
Update: In case anyone is curious, Mr. Groundhog has found a new home in the woods FAR away from me and my cucumbers.

Whoot Whoot! Congrats on the victory! What a great way to start your long weekend.
ReplyDeleteCute little fella!
ReplyDeleteOh boy, youre trap has been more successful than mine... ill have to try that bait!
ReplyDeleteaww, he's so cute. please don't hurt him!=)
ReplyDeleteYikes, I just realized we're neighbors! I hope you didn't left him off near our home LOL. We've had our own struggles with these guys. last summer they ate our vegetables right down to the dirt. But I think we licked the problem....
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Congratulations Thomas!!! One down..three to go?
ReplyDeleteOh I am so glad to read that you dropped him off in the woods, I was a little worried that you were going to show us a cute picture and then say something quite awful about a shovel on his head!
ReplyDeleteIt really is very cute, much cuter than the rats that I catch around here!
Thanks for the photo :)
Way to go, Thomas!
ReplyDeleteYey! Hopefully now your veggies will be safe:)
ReplyDeleteYou got it! I hope you blindfolded it and drove it around in circles so it can't find it's way back.
ReplyDeleteApplause!!!
ReplyDeleteWell done. I hope he/she settles into his new home and stays away from other gardens. Now you know that bait combo works... you can go after the rest of the family that is surely lurking about.
ReplyDeleteHooray! You caught him!! Now let's just hope he was selfish and didn't tell any of his other friends about your wonderful garden goodies! ;0)
ReplyDeleteGood for you, I hope the others will be in the trap soon!
ReplyDeleteExcellent! I'm sure there is lots of forest for these guys.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute varmint. Happy living away from the cucumbers!
ReplyDeletePeaches slices and vanilla extract ... Mr. Groundhog looks like a pretty sophisticated taste bud.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on catching the beast! Hopefully the others aren't as adventurous as this one.
ReplyDeleteOh he's so cute! I've never seen one before (being in Australia).
ReplyDeleteThis is a happy ending to a very entertaining saga. Thanks for sharing.
