The Gardener - Unmasked
Yes, that's me. (Cringe!) I don't particularly enjoy having my picture taken, but in this case, it was necessary.
Jonathan and I were featured on CNN's Eatocracy website today. (Pretty exciting, I have to admit.) They wanted to highlight my blog and decided to run a piece that I had written a couple of years ago. If you'd like to check it out, click below:

Jonathan is just as cute as can be!
Great picture!
You are certainly deserving of notice.
Congratulations Thomas! What a cute photo!
ReplyDeleteThomas! I had heard that Vietnamese men are all handsome, and the photo proves it (father and son) :-)
ReplyDeleteI loved the article - I think your father would be so proud that you are continuing, and passing on, something that was so important to him.
That's a beautifully written article. And your blog is truly top notch -- Congratulations, you deserve the recognition.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I already knew you were a gorgeous man, both inside and out. Jonathan is absolutely adorable, too. My, he sure has grown!

ReplyDeleteNo reason to cringe. You look like quite the happy family. :)
Woohoo!! What a beautiful picture! Now we need one with all three of you, my friend. Congratulations on the spotlight!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Thomas, and so well deserved. Your blog is consistently excellent and beautiful, and now also very funny (the groundhog wars. So much work goes into your garden, kitchen and blog, and presumably family life, too. Than you!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great article. Your blog is one of my favorites. That's a great photo of the two of you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulation. Great photo will be good in big frames for your future grandchildren to remember what an inspiration person great great great grandfather was...
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! It's nice to associate a face with a blog, lol. So glad I found you!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to finally see your face. You are two handsome-gardening-devils there. Congrats on the feature- I love the reasons you garden, most of us don't have roots running that deep. Keep up the good work, I certainly look forward to reading what you are up to every week.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being published on a CNN site. I know you are going to be overwhelmed with new readers to your blog.
ReplyDeleteGreat pic of you and your son. I really love learning more about you and your family and being able to put a face to the words in your blog. Jonathan is growing so fast.
Congratulations, what an honor!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME! Congratulations on the feature and your picture is wonderful. You are both very handsome fellows and should not be camera shy.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Nice article, and thanks for telling the story of your father, it's always so nice to know more about the people who shaped the lives of my friends :) What a fantastic photo of you and Jonathan!
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Thomas. Despite completely different circumstances and location I find resonances in my own family's experience, as will many others.
ReplyDeleteIt's *wonderful* to put a face to the lovely man we've come to know through your garden and writing. Jon is a sweetie! What a cute kid! We had to make a move back to the city in March (for health reasons) We're in a condo with no garden at all, and a north-facing balcony. sigh... it's been hard. But I garden along with you, you make it so easy! :) Warm wishes from a Canadian fan.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you, Thomas. It is recognition richly deserved. While you are seldom explicit about your father's inspiration, I feel it is this remembrance of things past and your desire to pass that on to Jonathan that makes your blog a richer and a deeper read. I remember when your garden was just a few patio pots on an apartment balcony ... and look at what you have now.
