What the.......

I'm sure that's what the melons and basil are thinking right now. It's currently 48 degrees F. It got down to 45 last night. It's June for Pete's sake!

  1. I know. My husband was joking with my that I had to get out into the garden this morning before it gets too hot. I'd need a coat to garden this morning. Brrrrrr.

  2. Its the same out here in the midwest. Totally nuts! Yesterday, 95, Today, 65. What the heck?! If the tomatoes and peppers don't die of shock, then they should be some really strong plants!

  3. Are you kidding???? Wow, I haven't even watched the news today, yikes! My tomatoes survived a couple nights like that, I hope yours do as well!

  4. Those wild swings up and down are hard to take. Our poor plants are still in the upper forties at night but at least the day time temp yesterday and today was in the mid 70's (the first time we have been above 70 all year - came close once but did not get there).

  5. Our daytime temperature jumped by 20 degrees yesterday, up to 84 (normal June temp). Our night temp was 43. The entire garden just looked at me and wilted, but a 41 degree spread has to be confusing to the plants.

  6. California Bay Area - Rained most of the day yesterday. Rain today about 3:00pm. 61 right now and 71 as a high. We have not had rain in June that I can remember in my 50 years. We are just getting into the 70's this week. My poor garden doesn't know what it should do.

  7. We've been lucky in Montreal: the temperatures have been steady, but there were frost warnings for other parts of Canada. In June. Two weeks after after the official last frost date for southern Canada.
My current worry are the gale force winds that are drying out the leaves and soil.

  8. We jumped from temps ranging from 75-80 (with more on the 75 side) to 90-95 in just a few days. If it stays this hot, we may not get a tomato or bean this year. I am feeling for you!

  9. Thanks everyone! It's so interesting to see what is going on in other parts of the country. It seems we're all experiencing weird weather this year.
