Away From Home
My lone female zucchini flower bloomed this past weekend. During the past few days, I've been in upstate New York for work and am flying back home later on tonight. I am anxious to see what it will look like. I had wanted to pollinate it by hand but forgot to. Hopefully, it will fruit anyway. From what I've heard, a cold front is expected to move into New England later this week. It's funny how you find yourself worrying about your vegetable garden when you're away. Hopefully, the squirrels haven't devoured the rest of my beets. I'm glad to be going home.

Hi Thomas. Gosh, you've been busy since I last popped in! It's looking very good.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the squirrels - I have to net most of my vegetables now, but the thing that upset me the most was ..... the foxes ate my sweetcorn!!!
Oh, Thomas...you sound like me...
ReplyDeleteI went to New England a couple of years ago...and cried the whole time....HOMESICK !!! For my dog, Butterscotch..my kitty cats, and my garden...I worried about that garden for 14 days....but how I LOVE NEW ENGLAND ! My DREAM is to live there...aahhhhh.....
So, for now, I am pretending....

I am away from my garden until spring now. I hate it! all I do is worry about it. My mother takes care of it for me but still its hard.
ReplyDeleteIt is hard to be away from your garden. Hope your zucchini gives you fruit and that your beets are still there when you return.
