I have never heard of garlic scapes until I read Daphne's post, and now yours. I assume that scapes are the flower stalks. I tried cooking my leek stalks that had sent up a flower stalk, but they were woody. My garlic made bulbs this year, not stalks, so I can't try them. I just harvested all of my garlic today, about a half pound.Lou Murrayhttp://greenlifeinsocal.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4778141609680363377.post-88453252724833552062010-06-08T00:51:45.938-04:002010-06-08T00:51:45.938-04:00All those peas, YUM!All those peas, YUM!Danhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07743102355360873845noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4778141609680363377.post-17449708568080511612010-06-07T20:53:29.474-04:002010-06-07T20:53:29.474-04:00Villager - I have to admit that I'm a bit disa...Villager - I have to admit that I'm a bit disappointed with the Piracicaba. I think I spaced them too close because they could definitely afford to be a little more prolific. Maybe it's just not their year.
